When a pattern becomes visible

Recognizing what is happening can create a small, meaningful space for choice.

Begin with observation

Knowing a type label is not the same as noticing a pattern in daily life. A useful first invitation may simply be: “Can you catch yourself doing it?”

Let recognition develop

A client may first notice a response afterward. With practice, they may recognize it as it happens, and eventually sense it before they act. These small shifts deserve attention.

Choice takes practice

Awareness opens a possibility. New responses develop through repetition, support, and a pace the client can tolerate. We help clients observe without turning self-understanding into another reason for self-criticism.
