About Enneagram in Therapy

Understanding people.
Beginning with ourselves.

Ann Galloway, Licensed Professional Counselor

Hi, I’m Ann Galloway, Licensed Professional Counselor.

At the core of my work is a simple belief: every person carries an inner voice calling them toward wholeness. My role is to help people reconnect with that voice—and learn to trust it with greater clarity, courage, and compassion.

I’m based in Mandeville, Louisiana, and hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University. My clinical experience includes private practice, community mental health, in-home work with children and families, and inpatient settings. Working with people across these settings has deepened my understanding of the many ways we adapt, struggle, connect, and grow.

I’m also a Certified Enneagram Teacher, with more than 23 years of personal and professional experience with the Enneagram. I completed The Enneagram Institute’s Professional Training Program in 2013 and have studied with leading teachers in the field.

The Enneagram has become a central lens through which I understand the therapeutic process. It helps me recognize the patterns beneath a client’s difficulties, listen for the motivations behind their behavior, and consider what might support their growth. It also asks me to keep looking at myself—at my own patterns, reactions, and participation in the relationship.

Today, I maintain a clinical practice while teaching and supporting mental health professionals who want to integrate the Enneagram into their work in a grounded, ethical, and clinically meaningful way. My teaching brings together an understanding of personality with the therapist’s own development: how we see, how we respond, and how we show up in the room.

Why I Created Enneagram in Therapy

I experienced the Enneagram’s impact in my own life before bringing it into my clinical work. During graduate school, I deepened that study alongside my counseling education and began to see how the two could inform each other.

When I began working with clients in practicum, the Enneagram was already a primary lens for understanding what I was hearing. It helped me make sense of patterns that might otherwise have seemed disconnected: a client’s recurring conflicts, ways of protecting themselves, and efforts to meet needs they could not always name.

Over time, I watched clients begin to recognize these patterns for themselves. Experiences that had felt confusing became more understandable. They could see their own participation with greater compassion—and begin practicing different ways of responding.

I also became increasingly aware of how much our development as therapists continues beyond graduate school. We learn theories and interventions, but bringing them to life with a particular person requires ongoing growth in understanding, presence, and judgment.

I created Enneagram in Therapy to support that growth.

It offers mental health professionals a place to deepen their understanding of people, develop their ability to apply the Enneagram thoughtfully, and continue the personal work that strengthens their clinical work.

Because great therapy begins with understanding people—and that includes ourselves.
